Top summer holiday beauty tips
July 14, 2013
With schools broken up for summer the holiday exodus has well and truly begun with loads of us jetting off to warmer climes this year but how can you ensure you look your best in those all important holiday snaps? So to make sure you look fab this year here are Shumaila’s summer holiday beauty tips.
Prep before you go
It’s really important to do some ground work before you go on holiday so when you are actually in the sun a lot of the hard work is done for you. So book in for a trim and to get your colour sorted and make sure you tell your hairdresser you are going on holiday so they can advise you of the best style and how to care for your style when you are away.
Getting your legs, bikini line and underarms waxed before you go will also ensure that you don’t spend all your holiday worrying about shaving and getting rid of unwanted hair. While booking in for a threading session will ensure that your eyes look fab as well. While if you want to get rid of those last few pesky inches why not book in for a slimming body wrap which can help you feel more body confident in your bikini.
It’s also key to make sure that you moisturise before you go so your body is in the best possible condition and will be beach ready when you are there.
When you are away the best thing you can do for your looks is to wear a good sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 but if you are going somewhere particularly hot you will need at least factor 30. When buying sunblock it is also really important to ensure that you choose one which have protection against UVB rays as well as they also cause damage to your skin. It’s also a good idea to use a good moisturising lotion on your skin after you have been out in the sun – anything with Aloe Vera in it will be particularly soothing on your skin as well as cooling. While drinking lots of water while you are away will ensure your skin stays hydrated from the inside as well as outside which is key to fab looking beach skin.
When it comes to looking after your hair make sure you wash it the moment you come out of the pool as chlorine can be particularly damaging to your locks and it’s a good idea to use a deep conditioning treatment on your hair such as argon oil so that is stays in the best condition.
In terms of your makeup less is more so go for chic nude tones, a dash of bronzer and peach and pink tones on your eyes and lips. Above all else go for waterproof mascara or why not get your eyelashes tinted before you go so that’s one less thing to worry about on the beach?
With a bit of preparation and some top tips while you are away you should come back with some fab holiday pics.
