June 16, 2013

So wedding season is well and truly upon us and if you are getting married this year you are not alone in that department, with a number of celebs also tying the knot soon they have been teasing us with talk of their wedding hair.

Jennifer Anniston has been a hair icon for years and it seems that when it comes to bridal hair she will be no different. The Friends actress is due to marry Justin Theroux soon and she’s been giving a few hints about how she will wear her hair. She told the July issue of Marie Claire magazine that she doesn’t want an updo for her nuptials but instead wants to wear her hair loose and natural. In fact she told the publication that she wanted “I just got out of bed, maybe had a romp hair.”

So if you are getting married this year how should you wear your hair? Here’s Shumaila’s guide to some timeless bridal hairstyles.

Loose and natural

You can take inspiration from Jennifer Anniston and wear your hair loose and natural, perhaps in a loose fairytale curls? The look is perfect for a more relaxed wedding and will go well with a lot of dress styles but will be perfect if you are more of a boho bride. However, just because the look is low key doesn’t mean it is low maintenance. In fact it is important to book in to see your hairdresser who can keep it trimmed and in the best possible condition. That way on the day it will be looking its best possible.

The classic bun is perfect for wedding hair as it is so stylish and chic and great for a more formal event. In fact bride-to-be Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea has recently posted an instagram pic of her hair in a bun on the MIC set prompting speculation that it could be a perfect look for her wedding. In order to get the look make sure you have a chat to your hairdresser beforehand so they can take you through a trial run so you both you know what it will look like on the big day.

A loose and romantic updo

There is something uber-romantic about tumbling curls pinned up in a pretty updo. It is perfect if you are channelling the fairytale princess vibe and will look wonderful on your big day especially when teamed with this season’s key trend for hair jewellery.

1920s chic

The 20s are clearly having a fashion moment and if you have shorter hair this could be perfect for your wedding day. A chic and sharp bob accessorised with a gorgeous piece of hair jewellery or fab finger waves will look great for your wedding day and proves that brides don’t have to have long hair.

If you are getting married book in for an appointment with Shumaila’s as we can make sure your hair looks perfect for the big day.
