Up to 90% permanent reduction of hair growth
We are one of the best Laser Clinics providing laser hair removal in London & Essex. We provide laser hair removal for face and other parts of the body while never compromising on the quality of the treatment.
The laser emits a beam of energy that gets absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. When this energy goes down to the base or root of the hair it destroys it, resulting in the permanent removal of the hair.
For the laser to effectively work, the hair must be targeted in its active stage of growth to prevent it from re-growing. All the hairs in any area are at different stages of growth at any one time. This is why multiple laser sessions are needed at 4-6 week intervals to get really good, long-lasting and permanent results. With each laser session, the hair root will become weaker and the growth will slow down.
At Shumaila’s, we use medical-grade lasers which are suitable for both men and women. The most popular areas for laser hair removal treatment are the face, the bikini area, underarms, legs, back and chest. Many of our clients opt for a full-body laser.
We normally recommend 6-12 sessions.
You should start seeing results in 2 weeks after your first laser hair removal session. After 2 weeks, the treated hair will start shedding. You will notice that if you try to grab the hair, it falls out. After a few more weeks, the hair will start to grow again. However, the hair that grows back is finer, and the growth is patchy and much slower.
With each completed session (approximately every 6 weeks), you will see improved results.
Due to the high heat, there is a risk of burns from laser hair removal. Burns and blisters are however rare when the treatment is delivered by an experienced and professionally trained practitioner.
Shumaila’s has been established for 20+ years, and we have treated thousands of clients successfully without any burns or side effects. This is because we follow strict medical protocols. All of our laser practitioners go through extensive training and are qualified. In addition to regular external training, we carry out detailed in-house training and checks to ensure the safety of all our clients.
At Shumaila, we use only the latest pain-free laser hair removal technology, to ensure that your experience is as comfortable as possible. Many of our clients have described the treatment as being as comfortable as receiving a “massage”.
Some laser hair removal technologies can be quite painful. When getting your laser treatment done at Shumaila’s, you can expect to feel slight warmth in the area being treated. On sensitive areas, such as the knees, elbows, upper lip and intimate areas, you will feel a bit more heat, compared to treatment areas like the legs. For unwanted hair, laser hair removal is much more comfortable than waxing or threading.
We encourage our clients to book a FREE patch test prior to the treatment. This allows you to ‘experience’ the treatment, and to also observe the amazing patch test result.
Anyone who wants to remove unwanted hair can have a laser hair removal treatment. It’s suitable for men and women. However, laser hair removal does not work on grey or blonde hair, as the hair must have a dark pigment to be suitable for laser treatment.
Unwanted hair may be natural, or due to underlying medical conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), or medication. If you long to be free of unwanted hair, laser hair removal is the right choice for you if you want a hair removal method that is easier, faster, longer-lasting, and painless.

Yes. It is also backed by scientific research and case studies. We use the Soprano Ice Laser Hair Removal System, which is FDA approved and safe for all skin types. Shumaila’s has been established for over 20 years, and we are proud to say that we have carried out thousands of laser treatments with great results and no side effects.
No, You are not at risk of getting cancer from laser hair removal. Skin cancer is caused by intense and long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays of sunlight that damage the DNA of skin cells. Laser hair removal equipment does not emit UV rays. Instead, it uses Infra-Red rays to target only the melanin (pigment) in your hair growth.
At Shumaila’s, we work with medical grade lasers that work at 808nm wavelength, which are scientifically researched, FDA approved, and do not cause cancer.
Some lasers can be painful or uncomfortable. However, at Shumaila’s, we use the breakthrough Soprano ICE platform that represents a new era in laser hair removal technology. With its ICE technology and multiple laser wavelengths, Soprano is virtually PAIN-FREE. This means that unwanted hair is removed with less discomfort than waxing, threading, IPL or electrolysis. A lot of clients find the treatment quite relaxing.
This depends on a range of factors. With each laser session, the targeted hair becomes finer, and its growth slows down. Generally, 8-12 sessions are recommended for long-lasting and permanent reduction. Some people may need less, while others may require more sessions.
If you suffer from PCOS or hirsutism, more sessions may be needed initially. The results are fantastic! As the growth of hair slows down, the treatment is no longer needed so frequently.
For laser hair removal on the face, your sessions will be every 4-6 weeks.
Every 6-8 weeks is recommended for laser hair removal on the body.
After a few sessions, as the hair growth slows down, the gaps between the sessions will increase. Eventually, you will only need to visit us once or twice a year for maintenance.
IPLs are not Lasers. Lasers produce a specific type of light consisting of one wavelength (or colour of light) that creates a single beam. IPL devices produce a wide range of wavelengths of light that create a single white flash that appears as an orange glow. IPL is a cheaper, less effective technology for reducing body hair as compared to Laser. On other hand, Lasers are safe for all skin colours, whereas IPL is only suitable for lighter skin tones. Laser technology is much more effective, and achieves substantially better results than IPL. Lasers are far more precise, as the heat is absorbed by the hair follicle and not by the skin. They are a safer option for darker skin. Compared to laser, IPL is much more painful. The results from IPL treatment can mean more top-ups are required between sessions, compared to laser hair removal.
While laser hair removal is a safe and suitable treatment for women and men, it is not recommended if you have any of the following conditions:
POST-TREATMENT ADVICE TO CLIENTS
When you are ready to start your laser treatment at Shumaila’s, the following will be explained to you at your free consultation.
PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE TO CLIENTS
Yes absolutely. A large number of our clients have PCOS, and they have achieved great results with laser hair removal.
Before arriving at the clinic for your first treatment, it’s essential that you clean shave the area that you would like to have treated. It is vital that no hairs are missed, as the laser energy will be wasted on the surface rather than travelling right down to the root of the hair follicle. The closer you shave, the more effective and better your treatment results will be.
Many female clients are put off by the idea of shaving, as they do not want to shave their faces for fear of excess hair growth. You can rest assured that shaving will not result in thicker hair growth in an instant. This is because we target the roots of the hairs to slow the growth permanently. So there is nothing to worry about!
After each laser hair removal treatment, it will take the targeted hairs 2-3 weeks to be pushed out of the hair follicle. During this time it will appear as though the hair is continuing to grow as normal. Then all of a sudden the hairs will begin to fall out of the skin.
No waxing, tweezing, plucking or threading of the hairs should be done between treatments, but you can shave as often as you wish.
You should start to see noticeable results from your very first session. The best results will be visible after a course of treatment.
Yes! The closer you shave, the better your treatment results will be. Before arriving at the clinic for your first treatment you need to clean and shave the area that is to be treated. For optimal results, it is crucial that no hairs are missed, as the laser energy will simply be wasted on the surface rather than at the hair follicle root.
No, it won’t. Shaving will not result in the growth of darker, thicker hair because we target the roots of the hairs to permanently stop the growth.
If you are having laser hair removal on the face, it’s recommended that you leave at least 1 week before having a deep cleanse facial. For deeper and more abrasive facial treatments, it’s best to leave a 2-week or longer gap.
Yes. Laser hair removal can permanently reduce hair growth up to 90%. To achieve this amazing result, you will need to have multiple sessions. We recommend at least 6-12 sessions at 6-week intervals.
Hair growth can be triggered by a change in the hormones at any time in life. Laser hair removal will not cause you to get new hair growth on areas where you do not already have hair.
Yes they can. Anyone who has dark hair is a suitable candidate for laser hair removal. At Shumaila’s, we offer back, chest, arm and cheeks laser treatments for men.
No. We sometimes get asked if bikini laser hair removal will cause problems for ladies who are planning to get pregnant and have children. Laser hair removal focuses on targeting the hair follicles that are in the dermis (middle) layer of your skin. The laser beam does not reach, or affect, the reproductive organs and will therefore not cause fertility issues.
The most common side effect of laser treatment is hyper-pigmentation – the darkening of the skin on areas that are exposed to the sun or daylight. This side effect can be easily avoided by following aftercare advice between every laser session, and wearing SPF daily.
Other possible side effects include: discomfort or tenderness, swelling or bruising of the skin, and reddening of the skin that lasts for some time.
The Fitzpatrick Test is a system and scale that is used to classify all skin types in the world, according to how they react to sun exposure. How each skin type tans depends on how much melanin (colour pigment) is present in the skin.
There are 6 skin types in the Fitzpatrick Skin Test. Find out which skin type you are:
Skin Type | Colour | Tanning ability |
Skin Type 1 | Pale white skin | Always burns, does not tan |
Skin Type 2 | White skin | Always burns, eventually tans but poorly |
Skin Type 3 | Darker white skin | Tans after initially burning mildly |
Skin Type 4 | Light brown skin | Tans easily, sometimes burns |
Skin Type 5 | Brown skin | Tans dark easily, hardly burns |
Skin Type 6 | Dark brown or black skin | Always tans darks, never burns |
