Hot Wax vs. Warm Wax: Understanding the Difference
Hot wax is applied at a higher temperature and allowed to set before being manually removed.
This method is particularly suited for sensitive areas like the face, intimate bikini area, and underarms. It’s gentle on the skin and minimizes exfoliation, offering a less abrasive experience. The use of hot wax is known to enhance comfort and reduce pain during the waxing process.
Warm wax, also known as strip wax, is applied at a lower temperature in a thin layer over larger areas like arms, legs, and back. It is then removed using paper strips. Warm wax not only removes hair but also exfoliates the top layer of dead skin cells, leaving your skin smoother and revitalized.

She did a great job of shaping and cleaning them up, but it's also worth mentioning that she made it completely quick and painless, and I barely felt a thing! My eyebrows were always so sensitive during threading, but this salon made it super relaxing. Thank you, and I will see you again soon!

Recently Romika has been doing them for me and she is just brilliant! She’s super friendly and threads my eyebrows perfectly! Everyone notices when I’ve had them done. Yes, it is safe to get waxed while you are pregnant. We offer full body waxing, including intimate hollywood waxing for pregnant ladies
Yes, waxing can cause ingrown hairs. The reason being, when hair is removed from its follicle, the follicle can shrink and close. When hair starts to grow again, it doesn’t find a path to exit out of the skin, and gets trapped under the skin causing an “ingrown hair”.
To avoid ingrown hair after waxing, you should exfoliate your skin regularly to avoid extra dead skin cells from building up which would cause the hair to get trapped underneath. We recommend using a gentle scrub or loofah sponge to shed off those extra skin cells.
For a more permanent solution to ingrown hairs, we recommend going for Laser Hair Removal, as it improves the skin texture as well as getting rid of hair and ingrown hair permanently. At Shumaila’s we offer free consultation and patch test for Laser Hair Removal.
Since strip wax (warm wax) removes the top layer of the skin as well as the hair, this can cause pigmentation and darkening of areas such as armpits and intimate bikini areas. Similarly shaving also causes darkening of the armpits, as you are shaving the top layer of skin along with the hair.
You can avoid darkening of the armpits by opting for our premium chocolate hot wax instead of warm strip wax, as hot wax protects the integrity of the skin and does not have exfoliating properties.

POST TREATMENT ADVICE TO CLIENTS
- Always wear SPF on areas exposed to sunlight

- No Heat treatments for 24/48 hours (Sauna, steam room, hot showers & bathes, swimming)
- Avoid going to the gym or swimming in strong chlorinated water for 24/48 hours
- Avoid wearing tight clothing in treatment area
- Avoid exfoliating, microdermabrasion or peels for up to 1 week
If you are having waxing on the Face, leave 1 week before having a facial.
