Weeks 1–2 (Initial Healing)
The primary focus is rest and hygiene. The area will be swollen and tender. You must avoid friction, wear loose clothing, and take time off work to allow the delicate tissue to heal.
Weeks 3–4 (Suture Dissolving)
The absorbable stitches will naturally dissolve and fall away. Swelling continues to subside, and daily activities become much more comfortable.
Weeks 5–6 (Clearance for Activity)
By the six-week mark, your surgeon will typically clear you to resume all normal activities, including gym workouts, cycling, and sexual intercourse.
Months 3–6 (Final Maturation)
Any residual, microscopic swelling resolves completely. The scar tissue softens and fades, leaving a natural, balanced appearance and permanent relief from friction.

Frequent Asked Questions
The procedure is designed to preserve sensitivity. The surgeon only removes the excess skin (prepuce) covering the clitoris. The clitoris itself, its underlying anatomy, and its nerve supply are completely untouched throughout the surgery.
Yes, this is very common. In fact, combining clitoral hood reduction with labia minora reduction often provides the most balanced and aesthetically pleasing result. The combined procedure takes approximately two hours and is performed under TIVA (Total Intravenous Anaesthesia).
While reducing an overly large hood can allow for greater direct clitoral exposure during sexual activity, it cannot guarantee improved orgasms. Sexual response involves complex physiological and psychological factors beyond just physical exposure.
You will not feel any pain during the surgery as it is performed under local anaesthetic with sedation, or TIVA. Post-operatively, you can expect mild to moderate discomfort, swelling, and bruising for the first few days, which is manageable with prescribed painkillers and cold packs.
Most patients can return to desk-based work within 3 to 5 days. However, you must avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, swimming, and sexual intercourse for a full 6 weeks to allow the delicate tissue to heal completely.
No. We use fully absorbable sutures that dissolve naturally over 3 to 4 weeks. You will, however, need to attend a routine post-operative wound check with our nursing team at 7 to 10 days.
