First 48 Hours: Keep the bulky protective dressing completely dry. Elevate the affected limb (hand or foot) to reduce swelling. Manage mild soreness with standard paracetamol.
Joint Immobilisation: Rest the affected joint. Avoid repetitive movements (like typing or driving) and do not lift heavy objects for at least 2 to 4 weeks to allow the internal tissue to heal.
Showering: You must keep the dressing dry. Use a waterproof cover when showering until the dressing is officially removed by your clinical team.
Clothing and Footwear: If the ganglion was on your foot or ankle, wear loose, open footwear that does not rub against the incision site until it is fully healed.
