Expect results in
Days 1–7
Swelling and bruising peak around day three before beginning to subside. Stitches are typically removed at the end of the first week.
Weeks 2–4
The majority of visible swelling resolves. You can comfortably return to work and social activities, and makeup can be applied to conceal any residual bruising.
Months 2–3
The incision line continues to fade from pink to a pale, natural skin tone. The new, refreshed contour of the upper eyelid becomes clearly defined.
Months 3–6
Final results are fully established. The scar is virtually undetectable within the natural eyelid crease, and the eyes appear permanently bright and rested.

Frequent Asked Questions
No. The procedure is designed to remove excess skin and restore your natural eyelid contour. It will make you look more rested and alert, but it will not alter the fundamental shape or character of your eyes.
The incision is strategically placed within the natural crease of your upper eyelid. Once fully healed, the fine scar is hidden when your eyes are open and is barely noticeable even when closed.
Yes. Upper blepharoplasty is frequently and safely performed under local anaesthetic. This allows for a faster recovery and avoids the grogginess associated with general anaesthesia.
Upper eyelid surgery removes excess eyelid skin, but it does not lift a drooping brow. If a heavy brow is causing the hooding, your surgeon may recommend a brow lift instead of, or in addition to, blepharoplasty.
The results of upper eyelid surgery are very long-lasting. While the natural ageing process will continue, most patients enjoy their refreshed appearance for a decade or more, and the removed skin will not return.
You should avoid all eye makeup until your incisions have fully closed and your surgeon gives clearance. This is typically around 10 to 14 days after the procedure to prevent infection.
