Days 1–3
Mild swelling and tenderness inside the mouth are normal. The new dimple will be visible immediately and will appear present even when you are not smiling.
Weeks 1–2
Swelling subsides significantly. The dissolvable suture inside the mouth begins to break down. The dimple may still appear slightly static or deep at rest.
Weeks 3–4
The internal tissue heals and forms a permanent scar tissue bond between the skin and muscle. The dimple begins to look much more natural.
Months 1–2
Final results are established. The dimple settles completely, flattening out when your face is relaxed and appearing naturally only when you smile or animate your face.

Frequent Asked Questions
Initially, yes. For the first few weeks, the dimple will be visible even when your face is at rest. As it heals and settles, it will flatten out and only appear when you smile, just like a natural dimple.
Yes. During your consultation, you and your surgeon will discuss the ideal placement. The surgeon will mark the spot and ensure it aligns with your natural facial anatomy for the most flattering result.
Dimpleplasty is intended to be permanent. While it is sometimes possible to partially reverse the procedure by releasing the internal scar tissue, it is difficult to guarantee the cheek will return exactly to its original state.
Absolutely. While most patients opt for symmetrical dimples on both cheeks, we can easily create a single dimple if you prefer an asymmetrical look.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so you will not feel any pain during the surgery. You may experience mild soreness inside your mouth for a few days afterwards, which is easily managed with standard painkillers.
You may feel slight tightness or discomfort when eating or speaking for the first few days. However, once fully healed, the dimple will not affect your facial movements, speech, or chewing in any way.
