Weeks 1–2 (immediate relief)
Many feel lighter straight away, though swelling/bruising are normal. You’ll wear a supportive surgical bra and keep activity gentle; incisions start to settle with our wound-care plan.
Weeks 3–4 (swelling reduction)
Shape becomes clearer as swelling eases. Most routine activities resume; continue the bra protocol for support and shaping. Bruising typically fades.
Months 2–3 (enhanced comfort)
Breasts soften and settle into a natural position; clothing fit improves and exercise usually feels easier.
Months 3–6 (natural integration)
Final size/shape become apparent; scars mature from red to paler tones with consistent care.
Year 1+ (lasting benefits)
Results are long-lasting; weight stability, good posture and bra support help maintain outcome. Life events (pregnancy/weight change/ageing) can influence shape over time.

Frequent Asked Questions
We offer anchor (inverted-T) for larger reductions, lollipop (vertical) for moderate reductions and circumareolar for limited reductions/areolar work. Your surgeon will recommend the best match based on size goals, skin elasticity, nipple position and scar preferences.
Most reductions take ~2.5–3.5 hours as a day case under general anaesthetic. Many return to desk work in 1–2 weeks; avoid heavy lifting for 4–6 weeks. A support bra is worn for ~6 weeks. Swelling generally settles in 2–4 weeks; final shape by 3–6 months.
Scars reflect the technique (anchor/lollipop/circumareolar) and usually fade across 6–12 months; they’re positioned to be covered by bras/bikinis. Breast reduction can affect breastfeeding potential; we’ll discuss this carefully—especially if future pregnancies are planned.
You may be suitable if you experience neck/back pain, strap grooving, rashes, difficulty exercising or finding clothes that fit. We look for good general health, stable weight and realistic expectations. We usually recommend waiting until development is complete and 6+ months post-breastfeeding.
Results are long-lasting; removed tissue does not “regenerate”, but weight change, pregnancy and ageing can affect shape. Many combine reduction with liposuction or other procedures as part of a coordinated plan—your surgeon will advise on sequencing and safety.
