Weeks 1–2 (Initial Healing)
The primary focus is managing swelling and protecting the internal stitches. The lips will look larger than expected due to surgical trauma. Stick to a soft diet and sleep with your head elevated.

No. The entire procedure is performed through a precise incision made on the inner (wet) surface of the lip, completely hidden inside the mouth. Once healed, there is no visible external scarring whatsoever.
If your lips are enlarged due to recent hyaluronic acid fillers, surgery is not the first step. We will first use hyaluronidase to safely dissolve the filler. If your natural lip tissue is still larger than desired after dissolving, we can then proceed with surgical reduction.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, meaning your lips and mouth will be completely numb. You will not feel any pain during the surgery. Mild soreness and swelling are expected for a few days post-procedure, which is easily managed with standard painkillers.
Significant swelling is normal for the first 7 to 10 days. By day 14, the majority of the visible swelling will have subsided, allowing you to return to normal social activities. The final, refined result becomes fully apparent between 2 and 3 months.
